Course Overview

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply specialised knowledge and skills,together with experience in leadership and management, across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

 

Individuals at this level use initiative and judgement to plan and implement a range of leadership and management functions, with accountability for personal and team outcomes within broad parameters.

 

They use cognitive and communication skills to identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources and transfer their knowledge to others, and creative or conceptual skills to express ideas and perspectives or respond to complex problems.

COURSE STRUCTURE

Duration 66 weeks. (40 tuitions weeks plus 12 weeks break and 14 weeks [280 hours] of work placement inclusive).

The course consists of 15 units and is clustered into 4 groups in order to be delivered within 4 terms of full time study load. The term duration is 10 weeks.

 

The work placement is to be conducted after the completion of the classroom study schedule.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

• [Age Requirement]: At least 18 years old at the time of course commencement.

• [Knowledge Requirement]: Students who intend to enrol in this course must prove their successful completion of Australian Year 12 (or above) or international equivalent, or has completed any Certificate III level qualifications under AQF (LLN test is required if the applicant's qualification is not in school based education field), or has relevant experience in school based education field for more than 1 year.

• [English Requirement]: For international students, IELTS overall 6.0 or its equivalent (TOEFL/PTE/Cambridge English are acceptable), OR complete Australian ELICOS course at upper intermediate level, OR complete any AQF Certificate III course (or above) taught in English, OR pass the SIELL English placement test at upper intermediate level (at least 60 points out of 100) unless your nationality is the US, UK, New Zealand, Canada or Ireland.

PATHWAY

After completing the CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support, students may articulate into continue their studies in Diploma of School Age Education and Care programs offered by any Education providers.

DELIVERY AND ASSESSMENT

This course (CHC40221 Certificate IV in School Based Education Support) is delivered in an institution based environment with face to face delivery. The mode of training is highly practical with a combination of practical projects, simulation workplace practical tasks, case study, tutorials, group activities, individual learning and theory based documents.
